What to expect post filling?

01 Mar

Often after composite filling some minimal sensitivity can occure.

It is recommended to not to bite on the newly filled tooth for a day or two as it can be pressure and temprature sensitive.  Heat and cold sensitivity are expected between 2 to 4 weeks. If it is extended more than this period you must contact your dentist.

It is commen to have a high fillings done because due to local anaesthesia patient can not feel if the tooth is over-filled. In that case you must contact your dentist for a checkup.

If you do not feel that the filling is too large and there is over contact with the opposing tooth, after one week there might be pain during biting or sometimes even pain in jaw and ear which can radiat to towards head. In that case you must contact your dentist immidiately.
